History
ROC (Rock Of Christ Band) is a musical group formed in 1991 by founding
member and guitarist-songwriter Gary Kitchens. We are four Christian musicians
from Atlanta, Georgia - and the surrounding metropolitan area. Over the years,
our lineup may have changed as musical interests or personal obligations have
required, but we retained the basic format of a guitar based Rock-&-Roll quartet
with a joyious and powerful message to sing.
Kenny Sirmans joined the band in 1994 as a singer and lead-guitarist. Kenny
also plays tambourine or the "bean" (a rather unique percussion instrument)
occasionally. The serious percussion, however, is played by Woodrow "Woody"
Morgan. Woody is affectionately known by our friends and other band members as
"Bamm-Bamm". Chris Cox joined the band on bass guitar in October 2000. Kenny's
brother Mike Sirmans has provided engineering and technical assistance to
support the band's activities since late 1997.
As members of ROC, it is our mission to reach out to the young adults of today
with inspirational Rock-&-Roll, Blues and other popular musical forms that all
have the message of the glory of God. We have perfomed for local Christian
coffeehouses, nightclubs, parades, church activities, prison ministries, Christian
biker rallies, large festival events... wherever the Lord may lead us to go and
glorify His name.

Future Goals
As members of ROC we were given specific talents and responsibilities by
our Lord and we will do the best we can to use those talents for His glory and the
glory of His kingdom. We will continue to produce new music and perform as long as
the Lord may provide opportunities to worship and minister in His name. As warriors
for Christ, our weapons are our testimony and the message in our music.
We still have a great deal of unfinished music to record, so there will no
doubt be other album releases and live performances in the future.
